cTour project training event on sustainability in Denmark October 15-17, 2024

Project cTour: Circular Mindset for Sustainable Small Tourism, which is funded by Erasmus+ and promotes circular practices in small scale tourism, organised a training event for professionals in Aarhus. This was a significant achievement, with 18 people from Greece, Romania, Denmark, Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands joining the action. The international activity aimed to train students and professionals in concepts and good practices of sustainability and circular economy in small and micro enterprises, tourism and beyond.

ECE students Efthimis Fokoloros and Alexandra Yiannis had the invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience through internships and group collaborations. They worked on issues related to the use of renewable sources in production, regenerative design, material reuse, sharing of services aimed at saving resources, improving efficiency, minimizing waste, recycling, and using digital services to reduce the environmental footprint of actions in the tourism industry and other sectors of the economy. In addition, they explored real cases and examples of circular practices in tourism and delved into their positive effects on local communities, the environment, and the economy.

Project cTour developed educational content to support the green transition. The research project will be implemented from 2023 to 2025 with the participation of the University of Thessaly and academic organisations from the countries above.
