A dual piloting and instructor training event took place on March 27, 2023. During the event, 40 students and 14 teachers of the Specical Education Vocational High School of Nea Ionia visited the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly. The students and teachers became aware of project INCLUDEME objectives, activities, and outcomes. They experienced the full functionality of the INCLUDEME digital learning platform for inclusive education, including functionality that facilitates access to the project educational content to individuals with disabilities. In addition, the participants engaged into a series of exercises developed through the INCLUDEME digital learning platform using H5P tools. Project VIE develops digital collaboration tools for hybrid learning. Through these tools, the project aims to support the flexibility necessary in learning design that has emerged in the COVID-19 pandemic. More specifically, the tools aim to support the smooth transition of learning delivery from in-class to virtual models and back, as well as hybrid learning scenarios, without disruption. The digital tools developed in the project complement existing educational content management services, which typically support content sharing, exams (both multiple choice and open text), announcements, and the submission of student projects. The VIE tools provide collaboration capabilities that are typically not available in traditional learning management systems.
