4th ALIEN consortium meeting hosted by Hanoi University, Vietnam 4-6/12/2019

The 4th consortium meeting of project ALIEN took place in Hanoi, Vietnam. The meeting took place on December 4-6 and was organized by the University of Hanoi. During the meeting the partners had the opportunity to discuss the deployment of project outcomes, and specifically the ALIEN PBL labs that have been developed at the Asian universities and the digital PBL platform within courses and broader learning activities in their engineering departments and schools. In addition, a transnational instructor training event was organized in which instructors from Vietnam, Pakistan, and Greece practiced problem-based learning activities by competing on building durable bridges with basic materials, namely spaghetti and adhesives. Connection with the University of Malaya, Malaysia 16/10/2019

On October 16, 2019 project ALIEN was presented to the students of the Technology in Education course of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. During the presentation there was a skype connection with the University of Malaya in Malaysia, a partner in the ALIEN project. The students had the opportunity to see the problem-based learning lab built at the University of Malaya through ALIEN and to reflect on the benefits of problem based learning.

Newly funded Erasmus+ Project HERA

Project HERA: Higher Education Re-engineering through Active Learning for Growth, has just been funded by the ERASMUS+ programme through the Greek National Agency IKY. The project, which will be implemented from 2019 to 2021 focuses on applying emerging didactical design in engineering education for bridging the skills gap between academia and industry. MUTUAL project multiplier event, June 4, 2019

CTLL organized on June 4, 2019 a multiplier event to promote the results of the MUTUAL project to the target sector of preschool and early primary school education. The event was organized in collaboration with the Primary Education Authorities of the area of Magnesia. The event activities included a presentation of the project and a presentation of multicultural activities developed in the course of the project in Greece, the UK, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Sweden. DesignIT project multiplier event 11/4/2019

A multiplier for the DesignIT project was held on April 11, 2019 at Xenia Hotel in Volos, Greece. The event was very well attended by 85 individuals, who used the DesignIT digital services to brainstorm on enriching learning practices on mathematics.
