The final dissemination event of the European Erasmus+ project BuildAsNature: Serious Games for Building Resilience Through Nature-Based Solutions was successfully held on 18 March 2026 at the University of Reykjavík, bringing together researchers from across Europe. The event was co-organised by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly and its Creative Technologies Learning Lab (CTLL) research group.

The BuildAsNature project focused on developing a digital learning game for higher education students to strengthen knowledge and skills in nature-based solutions. Through an interactive learning experience, the game supports students in exploring ways to address major sustainability challenges of the 21st century, with particular emphasis on the responsible management of water resources and the importance of working with nature to build a more sustainable future.
The event brought together 50 researchers working in sustainability and educational game design. Participants had the opportunity to attend a live demonstration of the digital game developed through the project. The programme also featured presentations by European researchers outside the consortium, who shared current approaches and good practices in the design of digital learning games. The event further provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue and exchange on how digital games can support learning, raise awareness, and promote environmental responsibility.

The project was implemented by the University of Reykjavík (Iceland), the University of Tallinn (Estonia), Virtual Campus (Portugal), the University of Dortmund (Germany), and the University of Thessaly, reflecting strong European collaboration to support innovation in education and sustainable development.
