It will be attended by 30 students from Poland, Estonia, Portugal, Bulgaria, and Greece, who will be mentored by educators from the same countries. Participants work on design thinking. An instructor training event took place from January 31 to February 4, 2022 in Porto, Portugal in the context of project ICT-INOV. The event covered fundamental principles and practical application of design thinking. Participants had the opportunity to actively engage in design thinking, following the steps of team building, problem discovery, empathy, problem-statement definition, ideation, and prototyping. Participants experienced the design thinking process from the point of view of a student and of an instructor. Throughout the event, participants deployed both off-line and on-line tools for implementing design thinking steps, including the ICT-INOV digital collaborative platform. The Creative Technologies Learning Lab of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly (http://ctll.e-ce.uth.gr) in collaboration with the Educational Authorities of Sterea Ellada (central Greece) organized on January 20 an on-line event on promoting design thinking in entrepreneurship secondary education. The event was attended by over 480 primary and secondary education teachers from all over Greece. The workshop presented design thinking, a deeply user-centred design methodology that aims to introduce innovative solutions to industry and societal challenges of industry through the understanding of real needs, experiences, and emotions of users. The audience was familiarized with core design thinking concepts, received practical advice on integrating design thinking into learning, and experienced a demonstration of a collaboration platform for design thinking in entrepreneurial and STEM education. The DigiMat project, named: Excellence for digital education in materials engineering just started!

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, an event on Design Thinking and Learning was co-organized by the Educational Authorities of Sterea Ellada (PEKES) and the Creative Technologies Learning Lab (http://ctll.e-ce.uth.gr) research group of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DECE). The event took place at the 5th General Lyceum of Lamia with the participation of secondary school teachers. The audience participated in experiential design thinking learning activities that can be transferred to the classroom for developing innovative thinking among students, who will be the problem solvers of tomorrow addressing complex 21st century challenges on sustainable development. A total of 20 educators participated in the event.
