1st Greek National Steering Commitee NPC of the COMPutational SENiors

On 22nd of May 2025, we held the 1st Greek National Steering Committee (NPC) of the COMPutational Seniors project. The meeting took place online as it contained people from all around Greece. The committee contains six people, one pedagogic expert from the University of Thessaly in Volos, two experts from the Helenic Open University in Patras, one expert from the University of Crete in Heraklion and two members of the Educational Authorities for the Region of Magnesia. During this session, we presented the Computational Seniors project and the initial version of our Open Educational Resources (OER) in English and Greek to the group.We are very grateful for the time invested by our NPC members and look forward to our next meeting!

COMPseniors: We are looking for Adult Educators to test our Educational Resources

As part of the Computational Seniors project, we are entering a key phase: Testing the open educational resources we have developed to support the integration of computational thinking into adult education. During June, we will carry out the pilot phase of our training modules, and we are looking for adult educators who are interested in exploring new methodologies and innovative teaching approaches. We are especially keen to involve educators who work with adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, as one of our main goals is to promote more inclusive and accessible education. COMPseniors will participate in the Future of Education International Conference

The abstract submitted by the COMPseniors project, titled “Computational Thinking for Low Qualified Adults Education: Challenges and Implementation Process”, has been accepted for presentation at the 15th edition of the Future of Education International Conference, organised by Pixel. The 15th edition of the Future of Education International Conference will take place online on June 25, 2025, and onsite on June 26–27, 2025 at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo Congress Center in Florence, Italy. It will provide a space to share COMPseniors’ work on computational thinking in adult education for low-qualified learners with an international audience. LET’s MIMIC project 3rd consortium meeting Volos, Greece 10 – 11/4/2025
