Our partner high schools are now in the final phase of implementing the Green Skills Student Ambassador Program. After successfully completing the training, students have gained key competences in sustainability, climate literacy, eco-friendly design, and the responsible use of AI tools. They are now finalizing their own AI-supported educational materials to raise awareness among their peers and promote sustainable practices within their schools and communities.In line with data protection principles, we share AI-generated images instead of real student photos.

Today, we had the pleasure of working with students from Saint Joseph Primary School on prevention, response, and recovery from natural disasters. 27 students and their teachers visited the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and participated in activities that foster collaboration, coordination, creativity, critical thinking, and empathy. Today we had the pleasure to work with the 1st Gymnasium (middle school) of Volos. 37 students and their teachers visited the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to participate in a workshop for building school resilience towards natural disasters. The workshop was part of Erasmus+ project ReachOut, which develops learning resources for natural disaster preparedness that can be integrated in different school courses, such as social science, STEM, arts, sports, and more see more

The first pilot in Greece occurred at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Thessaly, in Volos, Greece, in the fall 2025-2026 academic semester in the context of course ECE553: Design Thinking, an elective in the 4th year of studies. The Design Thinking course builds innovation capacity for young engineers. It develops competencies in designing solutions that better address user needs through empathy, observation, discovery, prototyping, and evaluation. The course was integrated into the DECE undergraduate studies program to develop design skills among young engineers, a necessary competence for today’s fast-moving world, where critical, analytical, and systems thinking are highly relevant and industry-demanded.
