An international school on innovation is organized from May 9 - 15, 2022. The event is attended by 26 students and 10 mentors from Poland, Estonia, Portugal, Bulgaria, and Greece. During the event students apply an integrated method of design thinking and problem solving for addressing sustainability challenges, such as sustainble energy, tourism, buildings, production and consumption, and more. Students have the opportunity to engage in international teams, starting with team building activities, which are followed by a city game for getting to know their host town for the rest of the week. A mutliplier event for project DT4S took place on May 5, 2022. It was attended by 65 students and educators and took place in Volos, Greece in the events room of the Tsalapalats Complex. During the event, students had the opportunity to apply in practice design thinking for introducting solutions to sustainability challenges, and more specifically effective waste management. Students worked in groups, analysing challenges and synthesizing solutions, which they presented to the entire group. Participants work on design thinking. An instructor training event took place from January 31 to February 4, 2022 in Porto, Portugal in the context of project ICT-INOV. The event covered fundamental principles and practical application of design thinking. Participants had the opportunity to actively engage in design thinking, following the steps of team building, problem discovery, empathy, problem-statement definition, ideation, and prototyping. Participants experienced the design thinking process from the point of view of a student and of an instructor. Throughout the event, participants deployed both off-line and on-line tools for implementing design thinking steps, including the ICT-INOV digital collaborative platform. The Creative Technologies Learning Lab of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly (http://ctll.e-ce.uth.gr) in collaboration with the Educational Authorities of Sterea Ellada (central Greece) organized on January 20 an on-line event on promoting design thinking in entrepreneurship secondary education. The event was attended by over 480 primary and secondary education teachers from all over Greece. The workshop presented design thinking, a deeply user-centred design methodology that aims to introduce innovative solutions to industry and societal challenges of industry through the understanding of real needs, experiences, and emotions of users.
